Researcher María Pastor Quiles (INAPH – University Institute of Archaeology and Historical Heritage, University of Alicante) will carry out, during the month of July, a study of the previously unexamined clay elements from the Chalcolithic period recovered at the Perdigões site. This study will allow for the identification of the nature of these archaeological elements, which may include remains of constructions (associated with different architectural systems) and installations, as well as fragments of movable objects. The analysis is based on individualized macroscopic observation, dry cleaning of the remains, and the collection of various types of data related both to the raw materials used and the construction techniques employed. The analysis of these remains—valuable sources of information about the past that are not always given due consideration—will provide new insights into the construction, economic, and social aspects of the Perdigões community.
