The research partnership of the Perdigões project with the National University of Australia (as part of an international project on mobility) produced new results for the contexts of cremations in the central area. Several dozen individuals analyzed, through teeth and pars petrosa (a novelty in these approaches), revealed that the vast majority have local values, contrasting sharply with the more than 70% of non-locals obtained for the tombs in the eastern area of the enclosure. These results, in addition to reinforcing the good definition of the local signal already published in the two studies carried out on the mobility of humans and animals in Perdigões, also raise a whole series of interpretative possibilities that it is now time to start developing and testing.
