In 2021, the Perdigões Global Research Program will start a collaboration with the University of Kiel, its main theme being the question of the end of Perdigões and the collapse of the social trajectory developed in the peninsular Southwest throughout the 3rd millennium BC. Excavations will be carried out on the site in an association between ERA and the University of Kiel, and studies will be developed in the field of paleoclimatology and genetics, which will be based on other funerary contexts worked upon by ERA in the lower Alentejo. At the same time, this partnership will be extended to the Santa Vitória project, established by NIA-ERA and designed in conjunction with the Perdigões research program. Thus, being planned early on for the investigation of the notable Perdigões site and the historical periods it represents in the Alentejo interior, the policy of collaboration and internationalization continues.
